I. Lý thuyết

Trước khi bạn làm bài tập thì quá khứ tiếp diễn, cùng Langmaster điểm lại một số lý thuyết về thì này nhé. Hãy chú ý đọc qua một lượt để tự tin làm bài tập nhé!

1. Cách sử dụng

Thì quá khứ tiếp diễn (Past Continuous) là thì được dùng để diễn tả lại một hành động, sự việc đã diễn ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ. 

• Diễn tả một hành động hoặc sự việc xảy ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ. Sự việc ấy vẫn tiếp diễn cho đến một thời điểm khác.

Ví dụ: At 8 p.m. last night, she was still studying for the exam

• Diễn tả hai hay nhiều hành động đang xảy ra đồng thời trong quá khứ.

Ví dụ: While I was reading a book, my brother was watching TV.

• Diễn tả một hoạt động đang diễn ra thì bất chợt có hành động khác xen vào.

Ví dụ: I was walking to school when it suddenly started to rain.

• Diễn tả một hành động được lặp đi lặp lại trong quá khứ khiến người khác cảm thấy khó chịu.

Ví dụ: He was always leaving the lights on for no reason.

3. Dấu hiệu nhận biết

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì quá khứ tiếp diễn là trong câu có các trạng từ chỉ thời gian trong quá khứ kèm theo thời điểm xác định:

• At + giờ + thời gian ở trong quá khứ. Ví dụ: at 10 p.m yesterday,…
• At this time + thời gian ở trong quá khứ. Ví dụ: at this time last week/ at the moment last year,…
• In + năm. Ví dụ: in 2017, in 2024,...
• In the past: trong quá khứ
• When: dùng để diễn tả hành động xen vào.
• While: dùng để nhắc tới hành động xảy ra song song hành động đó
• at that time: vào thời điểm đó

Task 3: Chia động từ sau ở thì quá khứ đơn hoặc quá khứ tiếp diễn
